Scottish Salon 2017

The 94th Scottish International Salon of Photography was judged from 28th to 30th April when entries from over 50 countries were assessed.  Approximately 25% of photographs were accepted and the judging panel awarded prizes to the best photographs in the six sections of the competition.  

‘Physalis’ by Kirsten Bax won the Royal Photographic Society Gold Medal for the best traditional print and gold medals were also awarded to Anne Greiner’s monochrome print ’Storm Force’ and ‘Predator and Prey’ by Mick Durham.  

John Wilson’s ‘Pumpkin Man’ received a Global Photographic Union Ribbon and monochrome prints by Caroline Menzies and Anne Greiner were given Honourable Mentions.  Overall Dumfries Camera Club had 47 acceptances in the Salon.
