The GB Cup is a competition for Projected Digital Images open to every club in Britain. By far the biggest Inter-Club competition the UK has ever had - and it is judged in Islesteps!

<strong>Plus Introduction to our Print and PDI League Competitions<strong>

Rod & Mick will outline the entry requirements and rules for our Print and PDI League Competitions.

<strong>Plus - Hand in for Alba calendar competition<strong>

This year’s theme is simply ‘Dumfries & Galloway’.<//strong>
<!--break-->
The Alba competition has to be landscape format (that's orientation not subject matter - although it's for a calendar so landscape subject matter is appropriate as well) and you need to provide a CD with hi-resolution digital images. You can enhance them in photoshop if you want to but don't down-sample the pixels of the file as final printed material needs much higher pixel per inch than our club competitions. Jpeg files are fine saved at quality 12. The subject matter is Dumfries and Galloway. The 12 winning images receive a £10 prize.

Comments

Some more details added to the Alba competition.

Thanks Ian; this info much appreciated. Now I can look for some suitable stuff without wondering if I am going about things the right way.

Graham.

Rather than have the information split over different parts of the site I've take the liberty of moving Graham's question (now answered by Ian above).

"Can anyone advise of rules/specifications for the Alba competition - Prints? - Size?, CD? - Resolution etc. as for PDI Comps.?

No urgency, but I wouldn't like to turn up on hand-in night with something completely unsuitable.

Graham Johnstone."

If you have questions on Syllabus items it is more efficient to post these as comments on the Syllabus.

Thanks Rod; I'll bear that in mind in future.

Graham.

i was at the judging of the nature section and there are some amazing images - this will be a good night.

Alba Calendar does the format have to be in JPG or can it be in Tiff?

jpeg might be better but keep the quality quite high - say, no less that 10 maybe?

Thanks Ian

Club Draw to-night. Please bring your £1s and have a modest flutter. You might win a contribution to your club membership cost; if not at least you have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping club funds and keeping the cost of membership down.

Good Luck.
